On January 12, at 7:30 at Dinah's in Palo Alto, I will be moderating a conversation with Cary Rosenzweig, CEO of IMVU, and an extremely engaging speaker. It is the first of a series of Strategy Breakfasts to be sponsored by the Stanford Graduate School of Business, as a means of bringing together GSB alums and Silicon Valley leaders to discuss new ideas and proven strategies.
I have gotten to know Cary (GSB 1988) over the past few years, after being introduced by our mutual friend Camille Watson and find him to be insightful, creative and a thoughtful manager of teams. I invited him to kick off this series because in addition to being a great speaker, he currently runs a leading virtual world, IMVU, and is successfully adapting proven business principles learned at P&G, Clorox and Intuit to this totally new space.
The official topic is "Why a Virtual Dress is more Real than a Box of Tide" but we will likely cover topics ranging from new media and social networks to virtual currency to leveraging your expertise while entering new markets.
Whether or not your are a GSB alum, if this topic sounds interesting to you, and you want to broaden your network, please join us.
