Images-7 On January 12, at 7:30 at Dinah's in Palo Alto, I will be moderating a conversation with Cary Rosenzweig, CEO of IMVU, and an extremely engaging speaker. It is the first of a series of Strategy Breakfasts to be sponsored by the Stanford Graduate School of Business, as a means of bringing together GSB alums and Silicon Valley leaders to discuss new ideas and proven strategies.

I have gotten to know Cary (GSB 1988) over the past few years, after being introduced by our mutual friend Camille Watson and find him to be insightful, creative and a thoughtful manager of teams. I invited him to kick off this series because in addition to being a great speaker, he currently runs a leading virtual world, IMVU, and is successfully adapting proven business principles learned at P&G, Clorox and Intuit to this totally new space.

The official topic is "Why a Virtual Dress is more Real than a Box of Tide" but we will likely cover topics ranging from new media and social networks to virtual currency to leveraging your expertise while entering new markets.Images-6
